(The first and last items are recorded) Raymond Warren's String Trio is in two
Allegro movements, the second of which has a slow introduction.
The Cornish composer, Inglis Gundry, was asked to compose a song for Jane Vowles from Blake's 'Songs of Experience.' He decided to expand it into a song cycle, which he has dedicated to her. In R. W. Wood's Piano Quartet, written in 1941 and later revised, the piano is treated as one of the ensemble, the composer's problem being to prevent it from predominating over the stringed instruments.
