Francis Chagrin's Two Pieces were written in April of last year and dedicated to Jack Brymer.
Malcolm Lipkin was born in Liverpool in 1932. He studied at the Royal College of Music, where the won a Cobbett Prize for a chamber work, the Sullivan Prize, and a Patron's Fund Award. His Third Piano Sonata, composed when he was eighteen, was first performed in Liverpool and played subsequently in London and in Holland. There are three movements: Allegro vivo, Adagietto, and Allegro (the last of which consists of a theme and eight variations).
Norman Fulton's Three Movements (written for Jack Brymer and Henry Bronkhurst) are marked respectively Allegretto, Lento, and Allegro vigoroso. H.R.
