The speaker reviews a series of four lectures given by Emil Brunner in 1948 and recently published under the title 'The Scandal of Christianity.' In this talk Professor Lewis, who is author of ' Morals and Revelation,' questions the seriousness with which Brunner has dealt with philosophy and history.

Samuel Butler , author of ' Erewhon ' and ' The Wav of All Flesh,' died fifty years ago (June 18, 1902). E. M. Forster , who has on another occasion acknowledged his own indebtedness, now speaks of Butler's influence in more general terms.
