-The Scope of the Subject
Professor Evans-Pritchard is Professor of Social Anthropology at Oxford University. In the course of six weekly lectures he will survey the growth, the present position, and the applications of this field of knowledge.
Tonight's lecture treats of social anthropology as a university subject, and explains its broad relation to other social sciences and to general sociology, as far as such definitions are possible while ' there is often lack of agreement among social anthropologists themselves.'
