Some Reflections on Travel in the British Empire
Thomas Wood
Waltzing Matilda , as everyone in Australia knows, means going on tramp ; and today Dr. Thomas Wood , who is both a sailor and a musician (his choral work ' Merchant Men' was broadcast in June last year) is to give another of his entertaining talks on people he has met in various parts of the world, and places he has seen. He has travelled almost everywhere and knows Canada, Australia, and Ceylon particularly well.

Saint-Saens's Second Symphony is really his fourth symphony. It was first performed in London by the Royal Philharmonic Society in 1898 under the composer. In form and style it is essentially classical in conception, and is scored for a small orchestra without trombones and with only two horns.
