A. P. Thompson
Here is the first of several broadcast talks for the small poultry-keeper, especially the beginner, by the editor of Feathered World, who is also
Secretary of the National Utility Poultry Society...
Today A. P. Thompson is to discuss the most important matter that concerns poultry-keepers just now-the hatching of early chicks in order o have pullets forward enough to lay eggs next autumn when eggs are most scarce and most expensive.
He will discuss among other things the advantages of the metal hen over the flesh-and-blood broody hen ; the feeding of young chicks ; the buying of day-old chicks ; and the rearing of chicks under hovers. Mr. Thompson will deal further with all this in his next talk, but if in the meantime listeners have any urgent problem perplexing them, he hopes that they will write to him c/o Broadcasting House, London, W.I.
