Until he visited Paris again the other day the speaker had not been there for eight years. Away in New Zealand, he had read and heard about the change of things in Europe -the world-wide depression, the Italian-Abyssinian crisis, the Spanish Civil War. How had these things affected Europe-Paris in particular? In this talk he will give a critical survey of Paris and her people ; the customs and thoughts of her people. Have they changed? Is the change apparent or deep-hidden? Under the familiar spirit of France, is there to be seen by the discerning a changed people wrestling with the problems and anxieties of the modern world?
