Ernest Schelling , the distinguished
American pianist and composer, was born at New Jersey, in 1876. He made his début in Philadelphia as a pianist at the astonishing age of four, and two years later was sent to the Paris Conservatoire to study under Mathias and afterwards under Moszkovski, Bruckner, Leschetizky, and Paderewski. On his return to America Schelling soon established himself as ona of the leading American pianists and a gifted composer. Some years ago Schelling conducted his orchestral fantasy, ' A Victory Ball' at one of the concerts of the London Symphony Orchestra.
