The uneasy peace of Tilsit, between Napoleon and Russia, has come to an end. Napoleon is engaged in a trade war with England, and is trying to -compel the Russians to squeeze British goods out of the Russian market. After months of friction and growing crisis, with Russia always refusing to negotiate or yield an inch, and always ending by yielding and offering to negotiate again, Napoleon's troops crossed the River Niemen on June 13, 1812.

Time, Today Play produced by Barbara Burnham The growing interest in transatlantic radio shows has accounted for a fair number of these being broadcast during recent months. Most of them have a flavour different from their English counterparts, and A Passenger to Bali is no exception to this rule. The play is one of the group that Val Gielgud brought back from America last year, and was broadcast in the States by the Columbia Broadcasting Company.
The play presents an unusual character in the person of the huge man who, claiming to be a Dutch missionary, boards the little British steamer Roundabout at Shanghai. He soon behaves strangely, and the story moves to as dramatic a climax as any listener could wish for.
