Anthony Hurd discusses the problem of British agriculture with a townsman
This evening Anthony Hurd will give the first of a new series of twelve talks in which he will view the agricultural situation, not so much from the point of view of the producer as from that of the salesman and consumer. The people he will bring to the microphone will include a corn merchant, a seed merchant, a country butcher, and a milk distributor, as well as some representative consumers.
In alternate talks he will be alone and will sum up conclusions and discuss the workings of some of the marketing schemes.
It may be remembered that at this time last year Mr. Hurd gave a similar short series in which he introduced at the microphone the chairmen of the various Marketing Boards.

A programme presented by Reginald Pursglove and his
Orchestra with Virginia Dawn
Isabelle McEwan and Max Oldaker
Compere, Gustave Ferrari
The title of this new short series,. of which this evening's broadcast is the first, is the signature tune of Reginald Pursglove 's Orchestra.
The programmes will be devoted entirely to songs about love, and as these are not hard to find among popular hits both old and new, listeners may look forward to a series of selections in which a good percentage of their favourite tunes will be heard.
Normally Reginald Pursglove's
Orchestra has no vocalist, so they are breaking away from tradition in having three singers for the run of the series.
