To most listeners a gale warning is little more than an interruption of the broadcast programme, but to thousands of workers it is a danger signal. This broadcast sets out the contrast and points it with actual ' sound-shots ' of the men and machines that carry on essential services in the teeth of the gale.

Jack Payne and his band are always welcome in a Music-Hall programme, especially as they have not appeared in one since October, 1933. Listeners know the good form they are in by their broadcast a fortnight ago in 'Jack Payne 's Party'.
Rupert Hazell and Elsie Day are to give another version of harrnonylarity, written by Rupert. They first met on the Yorkshire coast where Rupert was producing a Julian Wylie show called Brighter Brid - Brid standing for Bridlington of course. Mamie Soutter comes from a big pantomime success in Mother Goose at Glasgow. She has just had a big film offer.
Talbot O'Farrell will lend an Irish charm to the programme.
Gwladys Stanley has just finished her star engagement at the Victoria Palace as Principal Boy in Rubin Hood.
In December the famous Lupino Lane introduced his son, Laurie, to a Music-Hall audience. It is significant that they are back again in a new sketch.
