THE WIRELESS MILITARY BAND
Conductor, B. WALTON O'DONNELL
EDITHA BRAHAM (Violin) In the days of the foundation of the great nineteenth century Russian school of composers, the leaders of the movement were called' The Group of Five.' The chief man of this group was Mili Balakairev, and his associates were Cesar Cui, Mussorgsky, Borodin, and Rimsky-Korsakov. The forerunner of these men was Glinka, known as the father of Russian music, and their immediate successors were Tchaikovsky and Glazounov. The influence the Russian composers of that epoch have had on modern music is at least as great as that of any other European school.
