A Tea-time entertainment by Artists new to the Microphone
The first of the new Saturday Variety matinees. Artists who have never broadcast before will present their acts to the listening audience at a peak period of the day. Saturday tea-time, it is hoped, is the right time for the melody and humour of studio Variety to make a wide appeal. These matinées will be a regular weekly feature until Christmas.

In these days, when Channel-swimmers have become a menace to shipping, it is instructive to listen to a pioneer of this popular sport. Mr. Holbein actually failed to achieve his object by a few yards, but he remains an undisputed authority on long-distance swimming.
