Mr. R. T. Jenkins is one of the most attractive Welsh prose writers of the present day. A lover of France, he has travelled widely, as his delightful essays in 'Y LIenor,' which have been republished in 'Ffrainc a'i Phobl,' indicate. He is head of the Welsh History Department at the University College of North Wales at Bangor.
He has written an admirable history of Wales in the eighteenth century, and is now engaged on a history of the nineteenth century, and is completing the edition of Howell Harris' letters begun by the late Dr. M. H. Jones.

Alderman Fred Evans has all his life been keenly interested in practical sociology. At the present time he is not only a member of the Executive Committee of the Federation of Education Committees for Wales and Monmouthshire and the Cardiff representative in the Association of Education Committees, but also a member of both the Cardiff University Council and the University Court. He is also Chairman of the Welsh National Memorial Association for the Prevention and Cure of Tuberculosis.
