A Fairy Play by Dorothy Champion
In olden times there was a belief that elves sometimes did a lot of damage. When people discovered flint arrow heads, belonging to pre-historic times, they imagined the objects to be 'Elf Bolts' which had been shot at the cattle to make them fall sick. There is a Brownie Elf in the story of 'The Golden Girdle,' but he is a merry and useful little follow.
