Script by Jeffrey Segal
Mumps has hit the younger generation in Exton. Bryan Owen has had a mild attack, but Elvis Rockshaw has been sent to hospital with a more severe case. Gwen's two student lodgers have gone home for the summer after a party at St. Peter's Road; Mark having passed his exams, Barry having unexpectedly failed. Only a lot of persuasion by Mark and Gwen has stopped Barry resigning from university. Mrs. Freeman has been told by Dr. York not to expect such a rapid recovery after her second operation. She has also been worried by Sally's refusal to talk about her flat in Paris.
