A talk by Ben Duncan
No money and no dinner-iacket might give a man two good Reasons for declining an invitation to a debutantes' dance. But Ben Duncan comes from New Mexico, where good reasons aren't quite good enough. He accepted with pleasure, prepared with gay abandon, faltered on the threshold, and in the end, as he says, ' really enjoyed myself.*

Real stories from official records
Introduced by Captain Athelstan Popkess, Chief Constable of City Police in a large Midland city

A frightened small boy put through a call for help to a Police Station - Mum and Dad were fighting. When the Constable came to the rescue, he found that it was the Impossible Browns again....
Why these calls came to the Police and what the Police did is told by Captain Popkess. But what happened next comes from official records in the central or local government offices and is told by the man or woman who took the case over from the Police. In this programme he is a local government Children's Officer. There are no actors in these programmes anal only names and minor details of the stories have been changed to avoid identification.
