Mrs. Freeman's cat 'Captain' was found near Reigate and because he still had on the disc with Henry Freeman's address in Cornwall, he was sent there by rail. Mrs. Mountford proposed to accompany Dr. and Mrs. Dale on their drive across France when they went on holiday, but Dr. Dale insisted that she should be told there would not be room for her in the car. Bob and Jenny unexpectedly met at David's flat and afterwards David tried to dissuade Jenny from marrying Clifford Pugh, as he was quite convinced that she was still in love with Bob. Thanks to Captain Murray's intervention, Julie's parents agreed to let her take a five-year veterinary training if she promised not to marry Trevor until she had qualified.

Imagine a bush township with no permanent water supply, five roads, twenty-two taxis, and a population of men seeking the most sought-after metal in the world. That is Uranium City today. John Hillaby has brought back a record in sound of a recent visit to this almost fabulous boom-town on the north shore of Lake Athabaska. The record includes talks with the prospectors and storekeepers who aim to make money fast. He ventured cautiously into what must be one of the busiest and most isolated saloon bars in the world. And he took his recording gear to the bottom of the Eldorado uranium mine where men blast out the raw material for atomic energy one thousand feet underground.
