Nursery rhymes, stories, and music
Long ago, when a new storyteller was first heard in our programme, a small boy announced his approval thus: ‛ She’s all njrht, she's got a lovely voice.' And she was accepted into the select coterie without demur
Hints such as this of a young child's aesthetic response to the voices he hears have more than once crept into our correspondence, as have also reflections of the sense of the personality which, for him, they convey
This week the voices of aU three story-tellers can be heard-today and on Wednesday, Daphne Oxenford's (in ‛ Peterkin’s Hat,' by Hilda James, and ‛ Spring Cleaning,' by Helen Wareing), tomorrow and on Thursday Dorothy Smith's (in ‛Candy the Lazy Kangaroo,' by Janet Lamb. and ' The Pet Lamb,' by Jane Peock), and on Good Friday, Julia Lang's (in ' Woppy's Easter Egg,' by K. G. White). The voice which introduces the programmes is that of Lorna Pegrain, and, singing with Eileen Browne, can be heard, as usual, what a certain little girl described as ' the chocolate voice ' of George Dixon Elizabeth A. Taylor

Last week Bob received a summons from the Counry Court Bailiff for over-charging on the furmture in Cooper's flat. He toot it immediately to Bill Francis. who promised 10 help him. Dr. Dale told Alec about Bob's troubles. Alec suggested that when everything was cleared up Bob should make a fresh start in Canada, but Mrs. Date was not in favour of this. Bob told Trudi about the summons but she was not very concerned, and this proved to him that she wasn't ion love with him. Mrs. Mountford showed MN. Freeman a roll of ruby velvet.
