Programme for the under-fives
' I don't like my programme any more-it's too short,' said a boy of three and a half. And he insisted on his mother's writing to tell us what he thoughtl We cannot comply with the request for a longer programme, but we can and do fulfil the other demand of this small boy for ' lots of car and train noises,' some of which he may hear on Thursday in * The
Toy Motor Cars,' by Monica Jarrett.
Dorothy Smith tells this story and those for today and Wednesday, 'The Farmyard Band,' by Ursula Hourihane , and ' A Tale of Three Puppies,' by Jane Shaw. Tomorrow and on Friday comes Daphne Oxenford with The Ship,' by Joan E. Cass , and ' A Story about a Teddy Bear,' by Margaret Gore. Lorna Pegram will introduce the stories and rhymes both this week and next. Elizabeth A. Taylor

Mrs. Dale, the doctor's wife, records the daily happenings in the life of her family
Script by Joan Carr-Jones
Last week Mrs. Freeman was still housekeeping for Mr. Fulton but was beginning to find it a great strain. Mr. Fulton, driving her back to Parkwood Hill, got caught in a traffic jam; this irritated them and they quarrelled. Next day Mr. Fulton telephoned his apologies to Mrs. Freeman and mentioned a job as companion, which he thought might interest her. Jenny surprised everybody by announcing her engagement to Peter Kingston. Sally was sent to Nottingham by Elizabeth Russell to open a new branch. While she was away Maud French came to see Dr. Dale to say she had heard that the company in which Sally had invested her capital was going to crash. Dr. Dale told Maud he thought she had been misinformed and refused to contact Sally.
