A programme for children under five
The organ-grinder belongs to a dying race, and who will not regret it who has watched little children dancing to the lively sounds of a barrel-organ? In Listen with Mother, however, he lives on, and on Wednesday his music will be heard aga n in ' The Barrel Organ,' by Susanne Hale , with storyteller Daphne Oxenford , to the delight, we believe, of at least one little girl who waits every day, hoping to hear the sound she loves.'
Our remaining stories fulfil other requests: today, The Fairy's Home ' by Nesta Nutta 'l, told by Julia Lang ; tomorrow, 'The Picnic ' by Ivy Russell, told by Daphne Oxenford , and on Thursday and Friday, an old tale and a new one by A. W. Orchard about Charlie the Cat, when the storyteller will be Julia Lang.

Mrs. Dale, the doctor's wife, records the daily happenings in the life of her family
Script by Joan Carr-Jones
Last week Mrs. Mountford's house was burgled. Paul Vernon, who was there alone, rushed to the Dales for help. The police found Mrs. Mountford's and Mrs. Vernon's fur coats had been stolen. When Mrs Dale heard that Paul did not know where his mother had gone, she was furious and told Mrs. Mountford what she thought of Mrs. Vernon. Mrs. Vernon called on Mrs. Dale to say she intended suing her for slander. Mrs. Dale was distressed because Dr. Dale was in hospital having his tooth out and David and Bob were away. However, when David returned Gwen told him about it. David learned from his solicitors that Mrs. Dale could not be sued for slander but he advised her to apologise to Mrs. Vernon.
