Tyrone Power introduces
Dolores Gray accompanied by Frank Cordell 's Orchestra and Choir
Rose Murphy
(The Chee Chee Girl) and the King Cole Trio with Ray Martin and his Orchestra 1
Produced by Douglas Moodie assisted by John Foreman and Dennis Main Wilson
(Tyrone Power is appearing in ' Mister Roberts ' at the Coliseum Theatre, London) .,
' Transatlantic Matinee ' is' introduced by Tyrone Power , who has long been a great favourite with British filmgoers. It is only recently, however, that English theatre audiences have had a chance of seeing him in person in the stage production of ' Mister Roberts ' at the Coliseum Theatre, London,
The other artists taking part in this programme are all American. First, Rose Murphy , the Chee Chee Girl, whose records ensured her a large audience in British music-halls on her recent visit. Shortly before her return to America she made the special recording heard this afternoon. The King Cole Trio also made many new friends on their tour of the larger music-halls of this country earlier in the year.
The last artist is Dolores Gray-Annie of Irving Berlin's ' Annie Get Your Gun,' the show that did record business over a period of nearly three years. A great deal of credit for this must be due to M:ss Gray, whose performance was one of the West End's greatest attractions.
These are the American artists who entertain you in your homes this afternoon and hope to brighten your fireside this Christmas Day.
