Ralph Wightman , bom in Dorset, is a frequent member of the Any Questions? ' team. He is well known to listeners for his broadcast talks on agriculture and the countryside.
Sir Steuart Wilson is Deputy General Administrator of the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. Born in Bristol, he started his career as a singer. He joined the BBC in 1942 and was appointed Head of Music in 1948. Ernest Marples has been the Member of Parliament (Conservative) for Wallasey in Cheshire since 1945. Born in Manchester, he qualified as an accountant and started in business as a builder. He is now managing director of a firm of. civil engineering and building contractors. He is Honorary Secretary of the Party Housing and Local Government Committee.
W. N. Warbey was the Member of Parliament (Labour) for Luton in Bedfordshire from 1945 to 1950. He has a long record of service in the Labour movement, and before the war was tutor-organiser for the National Council of Labour Colleges. He has travelled extensively in Europe and specialises in -foreign affairs.
