Today we approach the record of Pentecost, the birthday of the Church, when everyone felt at home. There was no more babble of tongues, but one language which everyone understood - the Galilean language. The Apostles were so completely entranced that folk thought they were drunk: as entranced as we would be if we could find a common basis of understanding for our world. Only in Christ will the world ever find it.
