Howard Marion-Crawford in The Train Called Lenin
Written by TONY VAN DEN BERGH
In 1919 the Great War was over, and the Czech Legion which had been fighting for the White Russian forces was thousands of miles from home and anxious to return to their newly created homeland of Czechoslovakia. Their way was barred by considerable Bolshevik forces. They had however several trump cards to play. Amongst them was a train containing the gold reserves of the Imperial bank.
