by ANTHONY TROLLOPE adapted for radio in thirteen episodes by H. Oldfield Box EPISODE 11
Frank Gresham, having promised his father that he would travel abroad for a year before taking any steps to marry Mary Thorne, is now about to return. Mary has resolved not to leave home again in order to be out of his way.
Sir Louis Scatcherd has been ill, and has arrived, self-invited, at Dr. Thorne's to stay there under his care. He has indicated that he intends to call on Squire Gresham to demand an immediate repayment of the large sum the squire owes to the Scatcherd estate.
