Transatlantic Travellers
Edited and introduced by Kenneth Williamson
Since man first crossed the Atlantic he has accidentally brought many plants and animals to this country, where they now live in a wild state. But various organisms-bulterflies, marine animals, and plant seeds-are believed to make the Atlantic crossing unaided by man.

Appeal on behalf of the Council for Music in Hospitals by a consultant psychiatrist
Contributions will be gratefully acknowledged and should be addressed to [address removed]
The Council for Music in Hospitals was formed in 1947 to provide 'live' concerts for patients in mental hospitals to alleviate their loneliness. Professional musicians give their services for a nominal fee. Approximately 360 concerts are given annually.
Hospital Medical Superintendents find that music is a factor in helping the patients to recovery, and the Council for Music in Hospitals would like to expand their work to new hospitals and to encourage music therapy research. Funds for this work are urgently needed.
