In the last twelve years thousands of people have left Europe for countries overseas. In Canada, one in ten is a New Canadian; in Australia, one in eight is a New Australian. The InterGovernmental Committee for European Migration is the international body mainly responsible for moving refugees and surplus population from Europe; this programme traces their work in Europe and follows a group of migrants to the Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland.
