This farcical comedy was first produced at the Savoy Theatre. London in February, 1918, and ran for 578 performances. The 'only comparatively honest' member of a Wall Street business house accepts a challenge from his partners, and stands to win ten thousand dollars - if he can tell the truth in answer to every question addressed to him during a period of twenty-four hours. Conditions are agreed, and the test goes forward: listeners may reflect — gratefully or sadly— that the social and commercial complications resulting from so much honesty are likely to be confined to one side of the footlights. This play, of course, is very well suited for radio; its most dramatic moments are evoked by speech rather than by action
