William Busch's Cello Concerto was first performed in public at the BBC Promenade Concerts in 1943. William Busch, who is now over forty years of age. has distinguished himself as a pianist but is not so well known as a composer. Born in London, he studied composition for some time in Berlin, and on his return to England continued under Alan Bush, John Ireland, and. Bernard van Dieren. His Cello Concerto has an interesting characteristic in tonality, for each movement begins in G minor and ends in the major key
