In his broadcast today Reginald Gamble will be coming alone to the microphone to discuss winter pitfalls and the vital necessity of bringing
stocks of bees through the coming months. Unless strict
taken he fears that losses will be heavy—even up to fifty per cent. for the stocks have come through one of the poorest of seasons.

' Blue Peter-What He Did and What He Would Have Done'

This spring a wonder three-year-old called Blue Peter prophetically won the Blue Riband Stakes over the Epsom mile, and he was whispered as a wonder horse. His adherents were delighted when he went on to win the first of the classics-the Two Thousand Guineas
-at Newmarket. When he confounded his detractors-not that there were many—by winning the Derby, he was the means of creating three records. E. Smith the jockey, Jack Jarvis the trainer, and Lord Rosebery the owner, won their first Derby (although Lord Rosebery's father had won the Derby three times).
It is a triumph for this series to have succeeded in bringing
Jack Jarvis to the microphone today to discuss a horse from his own stable that may have been the horse of the century, but might have been beaten in the St. Leger, if it had been run, by the Frenchman, Pharis II, winner of the Grand Prix. Jack Jarvis will discuss the pros and cons with the professional race reader, Wilfrid Taylor , who has assisted Thomas Woodrooffe in all his big race commentaries. r
