Lieut.-Col. Holman James
Colonel Holman James is one of the most accomplished exponents of the Australian stock-whip in the world. As is the lasso to the American cowboy, the hunting horn to the English foxhunter, and the sjambok to the South African, so is the stock-whip to the Australian rancher. Colonel James has given exhibitions with the stock-whip for many years -indeed, under the name of Fred Lindsay , with a horse, stock-whip, and false beard, he delighted audiences at the London Coliseum before the first Great War.

A serial version of a new novel by J. B. Priestley
Sixth instalment, read by Eric Gillett
In this instalment Mr. Hassock's show in Dunberry does come off, and then (because of the police and a small matter of licences for entertaining) it comes off before the end. Nevertheless the townspeople are with the troupe. ' I am warning you ' cried Tom Lees , ' and the bosses and snobs that sent you here. I am warning you all. Let the people sing ! ' ' Hurrah ' shouted Candover, ' Let the people sing', and they do in this first uproarious climax of Priestley's modern fairy tale.
