Tom Jenkins began his musical studies on the piano at the age of seven. His piano teacher, who was also an organist at a large church in his native town of Neath, began to give him lessons on the organ, hut in less than a year the teacher died ana Tom Jenkins took his place as the organist at the age of seventeen. Eighteen months later he became organist and choir-master. Since then he has held appointments as musical director of the Cardiff Plaza and organist and manager of the Swansea Plaza. He gave his first broadcast from there in 1932.

From the stage in one of the canteens an Ack-Ack Divisional orchestra and Ack-Ack singers, comedians, and entertainers are giving a show for workers making Ack-Ack equipment.
