Tom Jenkins began his musical studies on the piano at the age of seven. His piano teacher, who was also an organist at a large church in his native town of Neath, began to give him lessons on the organ, hut in less than a year the teacher died ana Tom Jenkins took his place as the organist at the age of seventeen. Eighteen months later he became organist and choir-master. Since then he has held appointments as musical director of the Cardiff Plaza and organist and manager of the Swansea Plaza. He gave his first broadcast from there in 1932.
