played by Ena Baga at the theatre organ
Ena Baga comes of a musical family. She is a daughter of Con Baga, a well-known composer, and her three sisters, Florence de Jong, Celeste Baga, and Beatrice Baga are musical, the first two being organists and the last a violinist. At the age of twelve Ena was playing the organ at a Southend church, and two years later took over the organ at the Strand Cinema in Southend. Later, coming to London, she played at the New Gallery and at the Tivoli cinema theatres.
An outstanding incident in her career came when she was commanded to give a performance at Balmoral Castle for King George V and Queen Mary.

and his Band with Bettie Bucknelle
As soon as Phil Cardew could hold and play a fiddle, his father put him in the Cardew family quartet. His first professional engagement of importance was with Jack Hylton 's ' Piccadilly Revels ' at the Piccadilly Hotel. He also played the saxophone in Fred Elizalde 's orchestra at the Savoy. When Jack Payne started his long run with the BBC he made Phil Cardew his arranger-in-chief, a job he did also for Henry Hall. Phil leapt into radio fame with ' Band Waggon'.
Bettie Bucknelle 's first introduction to listeners was also in ' Band Waggon', as one of the earliest of the ' New Voices '. She made her bow— and remained!
