In his recently published book, 'The Origins of the Second World War' A.J.P. Taylor, Fellow of Magdalen College, Oxford, argues that the War was the result of diplomatic blunders on both sides and that the state of German rearmament in 1939 proves that Hitler was not contemplating general war.
These views are fiercely challenged by: Professor Hugh Trevor-Roper, Regius Professor of Modern History, Oxford.
Chairman, Robert Kee
