When a bandit is captured the gang will stick at nothing to rescue him, and what does it matter to them if a marshal gets shot? But to get across the border takes money and plenty of it, and if a bride has to lose her diamonds, well, that's just too bad. Or so the outlaws think - but Champion and his friends have other ideas.

A new play by Willis Hall

Televised direct from the New Theatre, London.
(By arrangement with Oscar Lewenstein and Wolf Mankowitz and the English Stage Company Ltd.)

[Photo caption] A scene from 'The Long and the Short and the Tall'
They're green, this mixed bunch of servicemen getting a taste of the Malayan jungle in the fateful days of 1942. But they're not without their own broad views on life and war, nor without their own brand of humour. This is a remarkable play into which its author has written some of the most natural 'service' dialogue ever heard in the theatre...

Adolescence is a period of turbulent emotion, sometimes of disturbed behaviour, when idealism emerges for the first time in a wholly unselfish form.
The awakening sexual impulses and the difficulties of adjustment frequently bring the teenager into conflict with parents and the world around.
The problems and needs of these young people are discussed by: A Consultant Psychiatrist, Geoffrey Gorer and A Medical Director of a Child Guidance Clinic.
