A comedy by Alan Kennington
Adapted for television by Barry Thomas
[Starring] Ernest Clark, Helen Shingler and Margaret Tyzack
(See foot of facing page)

A plane carrying a British Cultural Delegation to a UNESCO conference in Peru develops engine-trouble over a remote and mountainous district. Four passengers bale out safely, two men - a scientist and a novelist - and two women - a doctor and a former M.P. They make their way to a village inhabited by descendants of the ancient Incas, where they find Stephen Lockwood, a famous explorer who disappeared on an expedition some years before, living very contentedly in primitive comfort. Lockwood informs them that they will find it very difficult to leave without his help, and that he has good reasons for not wanting to help them.
