Sheep Handling and Shearing: 'Farming' visits Cockle Park, where Professor M. M. Cooper, Dean of Agriculture, Durham University, has a shearing shed modelled, on New Zealand lines. Sheep handling and shearing, and wool handling are demonstrated and an excerpt from a film is shown of the New Zealand shearer, Godfrey Bowen, in action.

Veterinary: The Veterinary Surgeon is also at Cockle Park and demonstrates correct preventive practices in the sheep farmer's routine.

Spotlight falls this week on Breaking up a Battleship

Breaking up a ship no longer required for service is a highly skilled job which provides the steel industry with a valuable source of high-quality scrap. Today's programme shows the way in which the battleships Anson and Duke of York are being broken up at Faslane on the Gare Loch.
