For some years now the phrase 'Deep Freeze' has been creeping more and more into scientific discussion, and experiments have been carried out developing the possibilities of 'hibernation anaesthesia'. Tonight's exciting play by Evelyn Frazer tells the story of the first human 'guinea-pig' to undergo this experiment. Philip Gage, a young doctor closely concerned with tests that have so far been carried out only on animals, finds suddenly a good reason why he should be the first man to volunteer. But although he may temporarily have escaped from the world of the living, he cannot fully escape the world of reality which is slowly closing its net about him...

Alan Villiers introduces Coasters
The M.V. Pacific Coast is one of nearly nine hundred British coasters, four hundred of which are probably at sea at this moment. She is a 1,700-ton liner coaster, running to a definite schedule.
This evening's programme follows her to sea, sailing by night from London Docks, down London River, past the South Goodwins Lightship and down Channel. She sails on across the great trade routes, past Land's End to Queens-town and Cork and finally to Liverpool, the home of many of her crew and of her master, Captain Joe Beckett, O.B.E.
