A comedy by Philip King and Falkland Cary.
Introduced by Brian Johnston.
The action of the play takes place in the living-room of the Hornetts' house in a small inland town.
A special performance before an invited audience from the Strand Theatre, London (by arrangement with Jack Waller and Send Manor Trust Ltd.)

'Hornett' is only her married name - but does Ma live up to it! She means well, but what a dictatorial and rampaging matriarch she is, quite unaware of the damage she may do. She runs the household and Pa takes it all meekly and concentrates on his hobby of breeding ferrets. Now Shirley, Ma's only child, is to be married, and to a sailor. There is in the house, in sister-in-law Ann Wilton, a striking example of what a broken romance can mean, even twenty years after the event. Must Shirley suffer the same fate? From the Strand Theatre at 7.45
