The story, on film, of the vital part played by human torpedoes and midget submarines in the attack on the German battleship Tirpitz.

Launched in 1939 as unsinkable, the Tirpitz was finally immobilised sixty miles up a Norwegian fjord in November 1944. Commander Cameron (who won his V.C. in this operation) and others of his gallant colleagues are seen with Admiral Earl Mountbatten of Burma, K.G., P.C., at the London premiere at the Odeon, Leicester Square, in interviews with John Mills, John Gregson, and Donald Sinden, who portray them in the film.
