Preceded by the march-past of the athletes of the sixty-two countries competing in the Games.
Following the opening ceremony viewers see the arrival of the Olympic Torch, the lighting of the Olympic Flame, and the taking of the Olympic Oath by the athletes.
Note: Times of Olympic programmes may be varied slightly according to the progress of the Games. Announcements will be made at the end of each evening's programme giving details for the following day
