Gillie Potter, whose radio voice has not penetrated the stately homes of England for over two years, will be heard and seen this afternoon, his first appearance at Alexandra Palace. It is not his television debut, for he was one of the four artists who travelled to Crystal Palace to perform in the experimental studio.

Mr. Potter has travelled a great deal abroad, generally at times of internal dissension - he was in China during the Civil War of 1912 and in Spain as recently as a month ago - is to give a travel talk entitled "With Spaghetti to Italy".

About two years ago George Scott-Wood wanted to prove that a small 'hot' British band could be a commercial success. The result of the experiment viewers will see and hear tonight-a combination which has broadcast frequently and which is popular with both 'swing' enthusiasts and lovers of the 'sweet' variety.

Leslie Hutchinson - he is just 'Hutch' to his fans - was originally intended for the medical profession. Now he is a great cabaret attraction. He is a brilliant pianist and has a voice to match. One of his hobbies is riding, but his greatest joy, he says, is to listen to a debate in the House of Commons.
