Rock with the Caveman, signalled a response to the American sound established a few months earlier by Elvis Presley 's Heartbreak Hotel (and two years before that of Bill Haley and His Comets). Marty Wilde entered the fold in 1958, followed by Cliff Richard with the seminal Move It!
This two-parter recalls the distinctively British, pre-Beatles rock 'n' roll sound, and examines the genre's debt to both radio and TV. Contributors include

But tonight Martin showcases her 1969 debut album and tracks from her various 70s LPs.
