Time was when an evening at the cinema wasn't complete without the console rising up, bright with ever-changing coloured lights, and the majestic sounds coaxed out of it by the player seated at the mighty monster. Even today, when many organs have disappeared, there is still an enthusiastic demand for music played on the 'King of Instruments.' The enthusiasts can no longer be dismissed as a sizeable minority; the appeal of the cinema organ seems to be approaching its peak all over again
