Du Barry Was a Lady. Cole Porter's 1939 bawdy tale in which a supper-club lavatory attendant is transported back in time to the court of Louis XV. This production, directed by Ian Marshall Fisher, was recorded last month at Her Majesty's Theatre, London. Mark Warrman conducts the BBC Concert Orchestra and a cast which includes Louise Gold and Desmond Barritt.
