2: Marriage and Success. In 1865 Lalo got married for the second time, to Julie-Marie-Victoire Besnierde Maligny , whose contralto voice inspired Lalo to write some fine songs. Early in 1871, together with colleagues such as Saint-Saens, Faure and Franck, he formed the Societe Nationale to help promote French composers.
