The composer tells of his "aimless activities" as a teenager, and how he came to Leipzig University to study law. Soon he is running the opera in the city, and makes his peace with his mother, who finally permits him to follow a musical career.
Telemann's autobiography is read by Simon Callow , and today's music includes a Concerto for flute, oboe d'amore and viola d'amore, a Missa brevis and the Suite: Don Quixote.
