This ' live museum ' of historic keyboard instruments, housed in Edinburgh University's St Cecilia's Hall, has inspired the first Edinburgh International Harpsichord Competition. Lionel Salter visits the collection and talks to curators JOHN BARNES and GRANT O'BRIEN , and to director PETER WILLIAMS , who demonstrates some of the instruments, finishing with Bach's Partita No 3, in A minor.
